RIP Ronnie Van Zant Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. Today is the 30th “anniversary” of the tragic plane crash that took the lives of members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the legendary band from Jacksonville’s westside that pioneered the Southern Rock genre of music.
